Mud!

Saturday, August 29th, 2009

Though the weather today was decidedly more pleasant than yesterday, the mud was still swirling around everyone’s feet and I couldn’t help but notice the astonishing array of wacky Wellingtons on display. Without a doubt it was Hunter Wellies which ruled the day, in a kaleidoscope of colours (even most of the children I saw had their feet clad in Hunters), but I also saw all manner of floral, animal print, striped, spotty and generally silly Wellies, though without a doubt the best pair I saw were printed with none other than chocolate biscuits. I couldn’t believe my eyes, and promptly made my way to the crepe stall.

First day of Leeds Festival

Friday, August 28th, 2009

First day of Leeds Festival today! Whilst hanging out in the VIP area, drinking cider from a paper cup and rocking my leopard print Wellies (because muddy feet will never come into vogue) I spotted Alexa Chung trotting past in skin-tight jeans, looking gorgeous but in desperate need of a greasy festival burger. Looks like our English Rose has felt the thorns of LA life! She wasn’t even wearing Wellies. Perhaps sinking into the mud would be a good thing – it might stop her being blown away!

Patience of a saint

Tuesday, August 25th, 2009

It takes the patience of a saint to take on the sales in Leeds – after all, Leeds ladies can sniff out a bargain at fifty paces – but my efforts were rewarded today with a very cool long vest from Urban Outfitters with a rather kingly-looking lion on the front for just £15, and a pair of vampy red stilletoes from Miss Selfridge for the virtuous price of £12! Just goes to show, fashion fortune favours the brave.
